Now let's take a moment to explore what Cannabis Beauty looks like.
HEMP OIL vs. CBD OIL
HEMP Oil and CBD oil l are both derived from the cannabis plant (Common Name: cannabis sativa), but they’re not the same thing. Lets take a moment to explore what the two different oils look like.
HEMP OIL: This oil is extracted from the cannabis plant. All plants in the Cannabis genus can produce the oil, but usually only industrial hemp is used to make hemp oil. Industrial hemp is a hemp varietal which has been cultivated specifically for industrial production, and it has a minimum of the psychoactive substances associated with the genus, most notably THC. Hemp oil is typically almost free of THC, and it has no psychoactive properties.
Depending on how the hemp oil is extracted, you can use it for different purposes:
Hemp oil is extracted from the stalk of industrial hemp. It’s used for a number of purposes: in cosmetics, moisturizers, supplements, and even paint. (This is the Hemp Oil we are using).
Culinary hemp seed oil is an edible, cold-pressed oil that comes from the seeds of the hemp plant. It has a strong, nutty flavor and a low smoke point, so it’s used as a finishing oil (like sesame oil) and not recommended for frying. It’s rich in healthy polyunsaturated fat and fatty acids.
Although hemp oil doesn’t contain any CBD, it does have some AMAZING health benefits. We will explore those health benefits below!
CBD oil: CBD (cannabidiol) oil is a natural botanical concentrate that is high in the compound CBD. Of the more than 85 cannabinoids so far identified in the cannabis plant, CBD is the second most common after tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Unlike THC, CBD is non-psychotropic and therefore doesn’t cause a euphoric high.
CBD oil has become popular thanks to its potential health benefits (although CBD is not the same as medical marijuana). Current research suggests CBD may help reduce pain, inflammation, and anxiety, according to the National Cancer Institute. Learn more about the research on CBD oil here.
