The Beauty of a Blood Moon: Your Guide To The Spiritual and Astrological Significance

The Beauty of a Blood Moon: Your Guide To The Spiritual and Astrological Significance

On May 26th, 2023, there will be a total lunar eclipse, also known as a "Blood Moon". During a total lunar eclipse, the moon appears to turn red while passing through Earth's shadow

What is a Blood Moon?

blood moon is a rare and striking astronomical event that occurs during a total lunar eclipse. During this phenomenon, the Earth's moon appears red or ruddy brown, which is why it is called a "blood moon." This happens when the Earth passes between the Sun and the Moon, blocking the Sun's light from reaching the Moon. The Earth's atmosphere refracts some of the Sun's light, scattering shorter blue wavelengths and allowing longer red wavelengths to pass through. This red light is then reflected onto the Moon, giving it a reddish hue.

TYPE OF ECLIPSES
DESCRIPTION
Partial
A partial eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, but the three celestial bodies are not perfectly aligned. During a partial solar eclipse, the Moon only partially covers the Sun's disk, and there are three distinct stages: the beginning of the eclipse, the maximum eclipse, and the end of the eclipse
Total

A total eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun
. People located in the center of the Moon's shadow when it hits Earth will experience a total eclipse. During a total solar eclipse, the sky will darken, as if it were dawn or dusk.
The duration of a total solar eclipse is only about 7 1/2 minutes at most. To view a solar eclipse, special solar viewing glasses are required
Blood Moon
blood moon eclipse occurs when the moon passes through the Earth's shadow during a total lunar eclipse. During this time, the moon appears reddish or ruddy brown in color. This is because the Earth's atmosphere scatters light from the sun and reflects it onto the moon

Blood Moon in May 2023

On May 26th 2023, there will be the first total lunar eclipse since 2018, and it is the first time the “blood moon” will be visible in May since 1975. Though the total lunar eclipse will only last for a few minutes, this is sure to be a breathtaking event.
